This Meticulously detailed and hand fabricated 14KT Yellow Gold Pendant is a scale replica of a Pre-Columbian artifact on display at the Museo Del Oro in Bogota, Colombia.
This is a substantial Pendant,
It measures 33.73 mm in length and 24.35 mm in width across the wings. Bearing uncanny resemblance to modern aircraft, these oddly-shaped objects have been found in ancient tombs across central America. Fashioned in solid gold by the Chibchas, a pre-Incan culture, they were used as amulets, to decorate sacred trees and placed as offerings in tombs. Estimated at roughly 2000 years old, researchers have found 33 of them in Colombia, Peru, Costa Rica and Venezuela.
Although archaeologists consider them stylistic renditions of birds or flying fish, from a modern standpoint they appear to be accurate three dimensional representations of very advanced aircraft, including an odd symbol on the wings like military aircraft of today.
In 1954, the original “golden airplane” was part of the Pre-Columbian Gold Exhibition at the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York. The deltoid wing and vertical tail section immediately attracted the attention of aircraft designers. Newspapers of the day report that exhibition directors allowed it to be tested in a wind tunnel where it demonstrated remarkable maneuverability and the capability for supersonic speed. Some historians actually believe the ancient model helped Lockheed technicians design their first supersonic plane.
The "aircraft" is listed as one of the ten most mysterious artifacts of the ancient world and is presently used as the logo for the Ancient Astronaut Society.

This is my reproduction Olmec Mask made in Argentium Sterling Silver. It measures 1 1/8” wide X 1 1/8” long and is a hand carved and finished piece. An Italian 22” medium curb link chain with an updated Loster clasp is included in the purchase price, although, it my opinion it would look great with a black cord. The Olmec were the first major Pre-Columbian civilization in Mexico. They lived in the tropical lowlands of south-central Mexico, in the modern-day states of Veracruz and Tabasco. The Olmec flourished during Mesoamerica's Formative period, dating roughly from as early as 1500 BC to about 400 BC. Pre-Olmec cultures had flourished in the area since about 2500 BC, but by 1600-1500 BC Early Olmec culture had emerged centered around the San Lorenzo Tenochtitlán site near the coast in southeast Veracruz.
